What is UniqueAuction?

UniqueAuction is a fun and exciting new auction site that lets users win brand new products for fraction of the retail price, and best of all…it’s FREE to play!  Just bid on the highest ‘unique’ number and you win!

How do you play?

Unlike traditional auction sites, it's not the highest bid that wins; it's the most 'unique' bid that wins - a number that no other bidder has selected.

For example, the Xbox 360 retails for $399.99, UA will have a ceiling price for the console for as low as $4.34. Users can pick numbers from anywhere between 0.01 and $4.34, with five free bids per auction as a basic member, or 100 free bids per auction as a platinum member.

Let's say three people bid $4.34, two people bid $4.33 and one person bids $4.32, then the "most unique bid" would be $4.32. This means the winner will only pay $4.32 for the sought after system.

Of course, there are thousands of scenarios that could take place.  The auction could even be won for one cent…if every number from 0.02 to $4.34 was taken at least twice and one person selected one cent

I’m confused. Say that again? How is the “Highest Unique Bid” determined?

It’s the highest number no one has selected, or if every number has been selected, it’s the highest number that has received the fewest bids, in which case the winner will be determined by the user who placed the winning bid first.

Here are a couple other examples of some scenarios:

Scenario A:

 Bidding Price

 Number of Bidders

$49.99

 150

$43.05

7

$10.11

1

$ 7.50

555

$ 7.45

7

The “highest unique bid" in this case would be $10.11, because only one person selected that number.

Scenario B:

 Bidding Price

 Number of Bidders

$49.99

 150

$43.05

21

$10.11

25

$ 7.50

555

$ 7.45

24

The "highest unique bid" in this case would be $43.05, because it has the lowest amount of bids and the winner would be the first person who selected $43.05.

What happens if every number is selected in an auction?

In the event that every number has been selected, the “highest unique bid” would be the highest number with the least amount of bids with the winner being the user who selected that number first.

How can I use my free bids?

Every member that signs up for free will receive five free bids per auction and all platinum members will receive 100 bids per auction.

At the beginning of the auction, basic members can place one free bid and platinum members can place two bids until 20% of the bidding numbers have been selected.  Once 20% of the bids have been placed, the remainder of your free bids can be used.

This helps create a more competitive and balanced auction.

Why is there a 20% restricted time period on every free auction?

To make auctions with free bids more fair and competitive, we have added a restricted time period at the beginning of the auction where basic members can place one free bid and platinum members can place two free bids.   After the restricted time period is up, all users can use the remainder of their free bids per auction.

The restricted time period is always the first 20% of the auction time. For example, if the auction is ten days long, during the first two days users can place one or two bids based on their membership and after the first two days users can use the remainder of their free bids.

When I win a free auction, does that mean I don’t have to pay anything for the item?

No, this means there is no bidding fee, bidding is free. However, you’ll have to pay whatever your winning bid was, plus the shipping for the item. For example, if your winning bid was $1.22 on a $500 item, you’ll pay just $1.22 for the item plus shipping.

Is this a lottery or raffle site?

No.  It's a game where winning depends on the user and their own strategy.  Nothing is hidden from the user, all bids and the bid history can be seen by all users, allowing them to cancel out each others bids to enhance their winning strategy.

What can you get off UniqueAuction?

Anything.  Anytime a hot new item is released, you’ll find it on UniqueAuction at a low cost.  Auctions ranging from cars, vacations, video game systems, iPods, digital cameras, televisions, computers and much more ... all for a fraction of the price.

Why UniqueAuction?

With eBay and many other 'highest bidder wins' auction sites on the internet, we wanted to distance ourselves from that group and be completely different, thus, the concept of Unique Auction was born.

Can I create more than one account?

No, anyone caught abusing memberships and bidding multiple times from different accounts will automatically be disqualified from winning any auctions.
